Employee/customer interaction is crucial, though. The employee does more than take orders, they have to solve problems a customer may have, answer questions, and such. I hope they think about that when determining if they should roll it out or not. Full automation is a terrible idea. Plus, technology breaks. If it breaks, what are they to do? McDs already has a reputation of "I'm sorry, our ice cream machine isn't working." Although it's usually a cleaning issue, they don't want to bother getting a better type of ice cream machine.
