Dreamlight Valley is essentially "You forgot about the Disney characters you grew up with when you grew older and now you're rebuilding a town affected by your memories as all the characters became victims to 'The Forgetting'".

There was a point in jojo part 6 where a couple characters went against an enemy who had the power to bring fictitious characters to life like Pinocchio. A lot of them are "Disney" characters (It's more along just the original fairy tales, but Disney had a big influence. Heck, Jojo's creater wanted to add Mickey Mouse, but, ya know, copyright. (You can't copyright classic fairytales. Disney doesn't own Pinocchio, they just own their version of the fairy tale.)

One of the abilities of that enemy was to separate one's soul from their body and the enemy was like "That's the version of you that built all these memories of us childhood fairy tale characters." All while I'm (passively) playing Dreamlight Valley.

Velma is a Mindy Kaling self insert, it's basically a terribly written fanfic using bunch of bad stereotypes and it's pretty racist. The characters have been completely destroyed, they're not even the same characters. They use the same terrible jokes over and over again. It's just a hot mess.

The only good thing is they weren't allowed to use Scooby so he got saved from being utterly decimated.

If I had any respect for Mindy Kaling, it is gone after this. She calls everyone who criticizes the show toxic fake fans and racists. If you didn't know, MK created the show and voices Velma (as in the horrible Velma series you should not watch). No one really has a problem with race-swapping, but she did it in the worst way possible. She thought changing their race would mean changing their personality. Velma had been portrayed as Hispanic in the series Scoob! Velma had also been portrayed as Asian in Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins! They kept Velma true to her character while also portraying her as a different race.
