There's medicine that can dissolve them but it's only used if surgery can't be performed, which makes me think it doesn't work that well.

I'm also being referred to other specialists for different reasons. My primary doesn't do any women's issues so I have to see a gynecologist. Fine by me because I'd rather see a woman for that.

getting into a OBgyn here generally takes a few months to get an appointment for a physical and many don't take new patients and if you haven't seen them for 2 years they take you off their patient list. My co-worker had the latter happen to her and they wouldn't schedule her as she was now a new patient and they weren't taking new patients.

Oh wow. I think I read that once you are 40+ you should be seeing a gynecologist each year.

Always good to get a physical every year anyway, if you can. I think for some tests it depends on what the results have been.

I had a wellness exam earlier this year. Guess I'll find out how things go.

Oh and the Windlyn items on redbubble look cute! I might get a mug.

and family genetics play a role in what tests are ordered too... and how often.

Yep. They ask about family history medical history for that reason.

So it seems like the psychiatrists and therapists are busy in my area. I called around and best I could get was being put on a waiting list.

The problem is I'm a new patient. One clinic is getting more staff but not until next month. If I can get an appointment in January with them that wouldn't be too bad.

It will be here before you know it. But make a list to bring with you because I find they try to get you in and out quickly.

Yeah I try to be prepared. I have a pain management appointment today. It's just a follow up but I'm wondering if I'm going to continue to go in monthly or if my next appointment will be 2-3 months from now. I'm doing well on the new med so it either means I get the dosage bumped up or I'm doing well enough that I don't have to go back in so soon.

let's hope that you can maintain the pain or improve so you don't have to take anything stronger.

What kind of things do they teach you in a pain management appointment?

They didn't up it which I think is for the best right now.
They mostly showed me some things that help manage pain. The nurse(?) talked about a device that is surgically implanted into the back that's like a TENS unit. I don't like the idea of surgery and TENS aggravated my symptoms so it's not something for me but it is interesting. Found out I have to go in monthly because my main pain med has recently been classified has a an narcotic. I think it's a little ridiculous but oh well. I'm thinking of finding a pain management doctor in my city because having to travel 2-3 hour round-trip drive each month is getting to both Eagle and I. Especially since we both have to get up early to make each appointment.
