That's sad. I remember when we had to put down my dog. I was too distraught to say goodbye to him, and I regret not saying it when I had the chance

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your messages. I'm starting to feel better. It's been a few long days. I've been in a bit of a shock. I miss her so much but it was the right call. There was nothing the vet could do to help her. My surving budgie is starting to move on from her passing now. He was head bobbing today - a sign of happiness. He is going to become one spoilt budgie (more so than he is now haha!).

Lemon Cheesecake in answer to your question. The coconut house was originally meant to be a bird feeder. We thought it would make a better hamster hide. Yes, it's a real coconut. Greg is actually a Syrian hamster (hard to tell from that photo - I will try to take another one when he's awake).

npixelz nice new avi. :cheer:

I think the sign of loving something is missing it.

MissAutumn: It seems like your pets are well loved and taken care! Were you ever able to have your budgie hatch any eggs?

Syrian's are the best hamster size-wise and in cuteness! :)

Definitely

We wanted them to breed but sadly Luna was diagnosed with chronic PBFD (French Molt) when she was about 1. So no baby birdies :distress: We must have taken good care of her because most birds don't survive for very long after a French Molt diagnosis. Luna made it to her 4th birthday. Her health had only started to decline a month ago - it mainly affected feather growth until then. I'm always researching better ways to look after my pets. I want them to be happy.

They sure are galled. I love how cute dwarf hamsters are but I hear they're harder to tame and super quick. :cheer:

My parents had budgie's that mated and laid eggs that hatched but sadly did not survive longer...I want to say the Daddy bird (or one of them) killed them?

I once rescued a bird after I saw some kids poking it with a stick. I named it Lucky, and it was our plan to take care of it until it was ready to go back into the wild. Sadly, it passed after about a week.
