It's totally fine! I got scared at first, but then I realized it wasn't that bad!
Yeah, it does that on purpose. The creator wanted it to seem like an ordinary visual novel dating sim, so that when the creepy stuff happens, it would be quite the surprise. It's a really great game and it uses mechanics rarely used. I won't say anymore, because I don't want to spoil it.
