Oh my god
So there used to be this place
The Super Flea
A maze of small flea market-esque stalls
A complete mess
Place closed down
Yesterday dad and I went to the Eastern Hills Mall
That place has been struggling since Walden Galleria went up back in the 80s
The Bon•Ton is blocked up, so they must've pulled
Kay's is gone
Sears was on their last day and I hate whoever bought the last mannequin
Lord and Taylor was gone, replaced with a co-op
Dad and I were both going "oh look it's the super flea but better organized and without the more scammy stalls"
I found lots of stuff I liked
Some of it was display only
Some was hella expensive and we have cats so nixed those
Coupla folding screens, one folded up so I couldn't see it all, another fully displayed. Would've loved the latter especially but no room plus I really shouldn't drop $150 on one item I'd store...yet
First thing I saw and picked up was a silk painting of a geisha. It's still double wrapped cuz the paper on the back is shot to shit and the frame isn't in much better condition so I'm waiting until it's not the one chick at Michael's framing cuz she hates discounts and decides what she likes and makes you go along with it
The others are much better about it
Still dropped $93
Did make a smartass comment on a walk-in wardrobe being possibly big enough (prolly a good ten feet tall, eight feet wide, four feet deep) and dad called it a luxury chicken coop
$5050
Had a guy arguing with one of the workers that it was a flea marker, let him haggle LMAO
Dad and I were shopping for my siblings treemas presents
Three locations:
Barnes and Noble: dad didn't get anything cuz what he went to get was neither there nor in the warehouse. I dropped $103 cuz manga was buy two get one free
Sears: last day, saw a mannequin but someone had already purchased it, and there was about nothing left
The co-op: already talked about this
So yesterday was fun
