we would pierce an egg with two small holes and blow the inside out, dry it and paint it. You can use wax on the outside to draw your design and keep the colors from bleeding together then heat the wax and remove the wax.

I really like the detail in Ukranaian eggs. And of course Faberge eggs are made with jewels.

A friend mentioned to me that someone he knew once gave him home-colored easter eggs. Unfortunately, they did not empty them as Lemon describes or hard boil them first! He said that one broke accidentally and the smell almost ruined Easter for him and his family! Oh no!!

We hard boil them, and paint them, but we don't empty them. We usually do it ahead of time, then eat them on Easter, and the days after. ^^

If you eat them soon after cooking, make them into egg salad sandwiches or something or put them into potato salad..then it's ok.

Yeah, after awhile of just eating them as they are, we use the leftovers in egg salad sandwiches.
We didn't paint any this year though.

I use to not like hard boiled eggs, even in an egg salad. But at some point I started to enjoy them. Now I want some lol

I used to hate egg salad, so, in order to get me and my siblings to eat egg salad sandwiches, we were bribed with being allowed to drink pop with them. Now I like egg salad, so the pop is an added bonus! ^^

My mom makes it from time to time and each year for Easter. I don't think she did anything, I just like eggs and kept trying it hoping I'd like it and eventually did lol

I'm not a fussy eater. I eat most things. Even if I don't particularly like it. And I'm usually willing to try new things. Unless it's fish. But if I really don't like it, I try to avoid eating it whenever possible.
