No angpaos this lunar new year for me! We usually send those out during Christmas and New Year's Eve instead xD
My family did get so much tikoy and hopia though. Giving those, especially tikoy, is considered to be lucky HAHAH. When I still attended school, classmates from the more strictly traditional Chinese families would bring it a buttload of tikoy to share with the class.

tikoy - sweet cake (yum!)

hopia - meat pastry (they don't look like meat to me in the pictures I found--still looks yummy!)

Hopia come in fillings other than meat! It's usually pork here, but taro and red bean, along with mung bean are pretty popular flavors. I think I saw a shop selling wintermelon ones the other week.
