It is
I did all that in quick reply on a phone

Lead isn't a bad guy, but boy oh boy can you tell he's got some serious lazy tendencies turning around and seeing him air guitar an organ was hilarious tho, back when we had three shifts

Sounds like working 2-3 shifts is enough to get anyone on edge.

Management needs to remind the Lead of the protocols.

Hope it got resolved.

We all work one shift, union has it so that they can't make us run more than 12 hours a day
When there were three shifts we had eight hour shifts
When we flipped to two, ten hour shifts, but only for the lines and my area on the common folk. Leads, supervisors, mechanics, they all stayed the same
We also went from five days a week to four

Supervisor told me that they have daily meetings the lead is at, so he most likely was reminded. And questioned why he went after us, particularly in such an aggressive manner
Next shift there was a note, but it had MANNERS so I know someone called him out on the prior one

Dunno how to resolve the material handler problem but I can and will mess with his chair. He's so twitchy when it's not at his desk, it's kinda funny but also annoying when you're trying to get his attention cuz you need something. Oh well
I'm thinking that if he does something that pisses us all off, I get his chair up in the top rack next to his desk. That's...12 feet up? 15? Basically really fucking annoying to get

That's fun with the chair (lol), but make sure it doesn't violate any safety protocols. Safety compromises are not acceptable to businesses and fireable. Have fun, but be careful and smart.

Boy, it sure sounds like you guys have a lot of laughs!

I usually flip it upside down, it doesn't have a back or arms, or set it to lowest height
I should max height it sometime
I did tether it to his desk once

But we do have fun. One of my coworkers on my shift is a bottomless pit and when he complains that he's hungry, I ask him when isn't he hungry
Also, he openly admits to drinking so back on Monday he told me he was going to get a drink, and I went "too bad we're at work." Took him a few seconds to process but once he did he started laughing and told me no, he had too much of that the night before

In my area there's a large scale used for weighing things, it's large enough for a pallet to sit on type large, and people can and will just randomly go on it and weigh themselves. I've done it
Having two people on it will make jokes about who is making it so heavy. If I'm carrying my water bottle, which hits 10lbs when full, I blame that
It's even more fun when you sneak on and confuse the shit out of the other person
The coworker I mentioned? He was talking to the supervisor about how it was way off and kept jumping around, even pointed out when it jumped again. Then he turned and saw that I had stepped on, causing this jump. Even the supervisor had missed seeing me hop on real quick
Plenty of shenanigans, plenty of trouble

Don't forget that I work during the night so all the persnickety upper management folks are either gone or about to leave, so we get away with A LOT more than we should
Including ignoring rules that are in place solely to upper management can have something to whine about
Which is why night shift does so well

The management skill is to set obtainable goals and let people manage themselves (if they are capable). The last part is the stickler.

I think there was a comedy movie named "Night Shift." Never saw it, but I suppose it's like Night Court (where things happen that can't during regular hours). :)

Back when we had three shifts sometimes some of us would joke about accidentally causing a fire and they'd find a way to blame second for it

I like night shift because I don't have to deal with customers, I can chat with coworkers freely, I can make jokes and the like, and I can listen to my own music

Also never heard of either of those movies

Lol
