My manager is often easy going as well, but he does have a more strict side

Yeah, I've heard about my lead being pissed
Okay I've seen him be irked at a gum taper being jammed, and when I heard him yelling (he's loud), I turned to wonder why he was yelling fuck
My coworker friend had jammed it to the point of being useless and had changed to soldering, but left it so it was clearly not working, told me that he heard more, specifically that the lead was calling it a fucking moron
Proooooooooobably because the guy who had been doing that job on second wasn't the sharpest banana in the sock drawer, and my friend had been thrown over to us for the shift, so lead didn't know who had actually done it, and friend didn't want to prolong the irkdom by admitting to it
But our lead cools off quickly, so it's also easier just to let it happen, especially when there's no person actually involved
He and the line lead argue a lot tho, he definitely doesn't like her, don't know her opinion of him but she has a low overall opinion by the linesfolk so meh

He does have patience if you're new and something gets fucked up. Just hope he's not on a forklift cuz then he will be loud. He did accidentally terrify a coworker by doing that. Oh the look of terror when she came over to me a few days later to tell me she was done with her job and I told her to talk to [lead]
I did tell her that he's loud, not yelling, don't be scared by him he's as scary as a jellybean. She didn't believe me, but I'm pretty sure after some interactions with him where he wasn't being loud she realized that I was right

I see! He seems mostly alright!

Sometimes my manager will get mad and later if I call him out on it and explain why I was doing whatever made him get mad, he'll tell me he knows. But it's like, if you know, why get angry? I think he just says he knows to try to stop the situation from getting bad again, but oh well, mostly he's fine

Friend I mentioned was initially intimidated by him but admittedly when he's still not fully awake he does come across as a grump. Friend realized lead was okay because lead will rock out to stuff from the 80s. Air guitar (air drums on forklift), singing, but not dancing
When I moved to that position, I had the luck of being introduced after he was fully awake so I didn't get that intimidation

Icy! I'm grumpy when I'm not fully awake as well, tbh

Ah, lead just looks it i guess. When he's not fully awake he can and will forget anything and everything
Thankfully his autopilot is good, and if you do need him for an immediate thing, he can help. Just don't expect him to remember if he tells you he'll move a thing later or something

Yeah, it's hard to process and remember things when you're half asleep

Which is why it's so fun to make him fix stuff before he's awake
Makes him wake up faster lol

Being forced to fix things when your still sleepy is worth two slaps on the face and one dousing of water

I imagine a lot of machinery at your work are the large industrial kind--dangerous when working properly if you're not trained or not paying attention. Repairs when sleepy screams safety issues. Yikes!

Most breakdowns in my position aren't difficult if you know how, just time-consuming, just the vast majority of us don't. So we pester our lead because he's the only one who does why the supervisors don't know how to change the ink roll is beyond me
We do have proper mechanics for the big machines
But the main airline is still jury-rigged in place with duct tape, so if anyone accidentally whacks it trying to pull some crates down, entire factory goes down
And yes that happened once. Poor guy was shaken and then vpop yelled at the poor sap
And no it's not properly fixed. Still duct tape and prayers

As much as I love duct tape for quick emergency fixes, that is so sketchy for something so important! I wonder if upper management knows?
