Anyway I have surgery in November

CONTEXT:
Back on the 7th I had my annual
Told doc about a lump on my chest
Got an ultrasound of the lump
Likely Just Boob Things, but this place is a cancer care center so they're gonna be Thorough and biopsy gets scheduled for the 20th
Biopsy results: benign but inconclusive
Back on the 27th, had a consultation for surgery
Turns out there's two types of benign lesions (lesion being their word): one that will pop up, stick around a bit, and fade away. The other one i have was biopsied back in '15 and got that. It's been shrinking but still there
The other type won't stop growing. Can and will make Boob a Megaboob if left unchecked
They don't know which one it is, so they're going for surgery
Alas, no teet yeet, not authorized (boo)
It's scheduled for Nov 3rd, so bit over a month

I've got a note to turn in before I go out stating that I will not be medically allowed to work
And if they try and give me shit, "so you make a big fuss about raising money for cancer patients and when you have someone getting a tumor removed that had potential to be cancer y'all are suddenly not okay with it?"
But mostly I won't be there to know or care lol

Sorry to hear you are going through medical issues Kit, sounds like they are trying to err on the side of caution especially with your medical history. I get fluid filled cysts, had one removed last summer because it felt like it was pressing on a nerve when I moved but I had it for years, just kept getting it monitored. They ran a test after it was removed as a precaution. So I do feel for you. Finding a small lump can be scary because you never know ... glad you have been careful and proactive in getting checked out & monitored.

Are you not able to get sick pay or use annual when you are off off? What about family medical leave or extended leave act or what ever it is called where you use it instead of sick leave, can you qualify for something like that? I think the Doctor submits a letter for it, not just a note.

Here's hoping they keep your position open for you ( unless you want to work somewhere else).

I have a note that says that I will be off floor several days and it's considered an excused absence because medical note

And considering during the peak of 'rona, back when I started, there was one who was out for several months to care for her kids and she's still here, they can hold me for two weeks

oh good! Doctor's note definitely helps. If you need more time off let your Dr know when you do the post op check & they can extend your leave. Glad you get paid while you are off so you don't lose finances.

And that's the point of the checkup ~10 days later, to see if I'm good to go or not
