Is t that what gas masks do? If we could use similar devices but on a larger scale it could help a little, maybe

I wonder how much giant air purifiers, like the small ones for homes, would cost to use in cities for pollution.

The cost of doing nothing will eventually be larger

The earth has its own air filters (vegetation, rain, water, etc.). I think if we sensibly curate the where we build and the materials we use (fewer heat absorbing and retaining materials) and replace and add to the plants we displace, I think we'll get there.
