Superintendent has been joking about calling the area I work my room
Literally on Monday the plan was to be there until a certain line went up, then I'd be over there
Before that happened, a different line went down and got fully shut down
Got the operator call, responded as I was told
The other two assigned that line showed up
Then the person on the line that shut down
Superintendent in a pissed off parent voice "GO TO YOUR ROOM!"
We both were laughing right after, so no hard feelings
And then yesterday it was to the one line until the new person showed up, then back to my room
Told him that if I hadn't needed to carpool the other day (mom had work) I would've grabbed the keys and been like "okay I'm going home"

Oh, and I really don't feel like I own the home yet
Not until my parents have signed and moved out will I really start to feel like that's the case

Predictably, my sister doesn't have the money to fly her whole crew up so she asked mom for help
Mom reached out to dad n me
Dad n I agree that mom needs to stop enabling the mooching my sister does, and that the whole family doesn't need to come, just her
Yes, this is the same sister who straight up asked me to buy her a Switch some years ago. In front of mom and dad and treats me like I'm 6 while expecting me to Adult

And I see that she's trying to creep her way back in
Made her unfollow me on insta (since that's an option, i don't post much anyway so if she may not even realize it, especially since she insta does not notify the person) and she asked me to make her a graphic design for business attempt number...*opens scroll and lets it roll down the side of a mountain*
Oh and there's only a 100% chance she won't pay for it

I say I'm the youngest, referring to the half sibs, but between her and my other half sister deciding that dad n i are not part of her life, I'm tempted to say that I'm an only child, aka the nuclear family unit
Pretty sure I have more of an only kid upbringing than youngest child one anyway

That's sad that your (half) Sister puts your Mom in that position, can't she get money from her Dad? Or do you have the same Father & your Mom just feels obligated to bail her out so she likes her? Family drama, family drama. Glad you have caught on to the tactics.

We share a mother
Idk anything about her father (I'm about 10 years younger than them all, I'm 28 which makes her nearly FORTY), other than he was...bad
We don't know why mom sends her money, dad finds out after when it happens. By my understanding, she's been doing this for a very long time. Dad said that she asked him once and he said no, so she asked mom who said she didn't have the money, ask dad

Also, I haven't sent or done squat for her in years. Especially now that Christmas is focused on the littles so they get about 98% of the stuff, and even then mom handles it for me cuz I know very little about them

Pretty sure if mom hadn't spent all that money enabling my sister, which has been more or less her entire life, a TON of the home repairs we need would've been taken care of years ago. But no. Her Europe vacation(s, she had Rich Rich friends and for some reason had to Keep Up Appearances), her 4968372794 dance lessons and thus recital outfits, other expensive thing, they needed to happen
Sister is all "grandma paid for a lot of that!" except grandma only did once and was repaid, which surprised my brother (they're full sibs), who believed the grandma paid story
So yeah. Sister is a piece of work and mom is an enabler

I've seen similar situations and it's a combination of mom feeling guilt and the child (now adult) knowing how to manipulate mom. This is very common with broken families. Unfortunately the only solution/remedy is mom coming to terms with the guilt (which may or may not be warranted). It's a difficult/uncomfortable discussion, but I've learned that those are the ones in life really worth having. (Not saying you're the one to do it of course.)
