@Lemon Cheesecake: Lemon! I missed you! Aww I'm happy to be back! Everything is going pretty good. I am in a relationship, I have a little job, I graduated college... I've been a busy bee really.

@npixelz: Things are pretty good! Just busy with work, looking for work elsewhere too since I just think I need to get a better job honestly. But I'm healthy so yeah!

@galled: I've missed you all too! I'm sorry for being away all this time. A lot has happened since I was last here and it's been hard to find any down time. Also I just forgot about this place since I've been so busy and stressed at times but I really want to do better and come here daily again.

I am sure you will be an asset to anyone you work for. Maybe you can get a job you like better soon! You can always go work for the Post Office!

Aww well thank you! I do my best in the little shop I work at but I don't even work many days, which is fine but I get paid every 2 weeks and that isn't really fun for me since I have expenses. Having to wait two weeks to be able to pay for stuff isn't really nice. Ooh the post office? That would be really neat!

I'd be happy working in any office setting or maybe in a library or something. A post office works too!

Also I feel that on wanting a better job. My job is alright but it's not exactly something I want to make a career out of. And getting paid once every two weeks really doesn't sound fun!

Library sounds fun, tbh, you'd probably be able to read whatever is available during break!

I hope that you're able to find another job soon! Yeah I would like to get paid every week since I think that's how it's usually done in other work places? I did message someone and they got back to me, telling me to message them on Friday for some details so I'll just have to do that and hopefully they have some good news for me.

Yeah! I've always enjoyed the library when I was in school. I'm a huge book lover so working in a library sounds like it would be very nice.

JinMay hey, congrats on graduating!!!! You stuck it out during some very difficult times--so awesome!

Wow! So happy about the many developments on your end! What did degree did you earn? Any prospects of advancement where you currently work or leads on other jobs?

galled Thank you! It was tough. Mentally but mostly emotionally, but I pushed through.

I earned an associates of science in business. The shop I work at is relatively small, I don't see any reason for advancement there for me. I did however reach out to someone who works at a private school since I had applied there before but the positions had been filled, they just never informed me. So they told me to message them on Friday if I was still interested. So that's what I'll do.

As much as I enjoy my job, I don't feel like I'll ever advance there. Plus, getting paid once every two weeks isn't good enough for me now. I'd like to get paid once a week because I think that's how it's usually done in other work places. Still, I'm thankful for the opportunity.

I get paid every two weeks. I think most places pay that way.
Costs for my health insurance premiums come out in every pay check, as well as taxes, before I am paid so it helps in knowing how much money I actually have for monthly bills etc.
My cost of living is pretty well set costs so that helps in knowing how much I have to pay each month. Unfortunately cost of car insurance & water bills etc seem to keep jumping up in price!

I see nothing wrong with working at where you are & looking around for something else in the mean time. Remember benefits can add substantially to what your salary or wage is if they are paid in addition. Always ask what benefits are included! Also check out flexibility if you have to work different hours to take care of your parents.

@Lemon Cheesecake Really? Oh.. I thought it was normal to pay at the end of every week. Oops.
Ahhh yeah that does sound helpful. I always enjoy knowing how much money I have left to actually spend on bills and for gas and stuff like groceries. I definitely would prefer to have a full time job instead of this part time one but it's a start.
Oh my gosh, car insurance is so pricey! I understand it's important but wow.

Yeah I hope I can find another job somewhere. I'd prefer if it were full time because I really do need the money. Ohh okay! Hmm I didn't know one could ask about the benefits but it sounds like a smart idea and I'm sure the employer wouldn't mind answering that. Thank you Lemon! npixelz Right? I always liked to hide in the library at school during the lunch break. lol. I just have always enjoyed reading, I just read very slowly so it takes so long for me to actually finish reading a book. I think the fastest I ever read a book was three days.

Same here! Some of my best school memories were when I was in the library! Even when I graduated, before I got a job I would walk to the public library all the time!

It is so much easier to watch a movie then to read a book but reading has a whole other depth that movies can't always encompass.
