Had a nail tear yesterday at work, bled
And then today a lithobox (really thin and constantly out for blood) sliced between my fingers on the SAME HAND

As for home, well, we got corn in so that's put a hold on things
Sunday we're getting wood into the house
I think (hope) that my parents will be going back into packing up their stuff after the corn's done, it's almost there as it is, so I imagine tomorrow that'll be the focus again
So now the hope is that sometime October they'll be moved out

What does that mean: "we've got corn in"? Do you have a corn field ? Do you have to shucK the corn? What do you do with it all ( besides eat some of it)?

Is everything done for the P's new house now? Can they move in at anytime? I don't think you've said how far away both homes are.

Apparently grandpa half-assed a lot of stuff so there's definitely work to be done
They can, but they're trying to keep costs low and are doing what they can when they have time, so it's taking a while
They're half a mile away apart
Mom n brother are twitching cuz dad's talking changes and they want to keep it a shrine to grandma n grandpa. Which grandma had told everyone that if someone in the family had somehow gotten the house do NOT do that. What would they have expected if the house had been sold to strangers?
Their neighbors on the one side, hubby is a landscaper as a side hustle. Dad's chatted with the wife, she asked if they could trim back the one bush cuz it's blocking road sight from their driveway. Dad told her go for it, just don't cut it down entirely

We do have gloves required for some stuff, but packout isn't one of them and when packing I find wearing gloves slows me down, so they're not worth it

I've seen a corn shucking tool ...makes it more uniform then a knife.

Do you feed the cobs to any local pigs?

I've seen them too, but they're rarely ever the right size to where they're not worth buying

Meh. Not my house not my problem. Did get a rundown of the stuff dad is doing, the one lil nook that my grandma used as a Gone With the Wind shrine is gonna become a book nook. Dad likes that idea better than what he had in mind, he was gonna out his computer there but decided on a different spot where a poster of Scarlett O'Hara won't be staring him down

Went shopping with my friend since she moved to her new apartment. It's got a bit of a goofy layout, since it's a house split in half, but she's paying significantly less in rent+amenities (except internet) so hopefully she n her man can get really going with the savings
Took the White Thing with me (2005 Nissan, is a white SUV and has been the White Thing since we got it. Others like it are white things but not the White Thing), got a bunch of stuff, since I have some space in the one room to store it. The more mom shovels out of there, the more I can get
Told dad that I didn't get some of the stuff I liked cuz White Thing ain't big enough, gonna do that with my friend's truck when there's space in the house
He pointed out that he has a trailer that's hella bigger than her truck's bed
I reminded him no space, and he conceded

Also some of that stuff is EXPENSIVE and I spent a lot of money today already

Movie trivia: Gone with the Wind is still the all-time box office lead when corrected to today's dollars. An original poster could have been pretty valuable.

The seats in White Thing do fold down to make its trunk larger, but not when barricaded by car seats. We may have to do that with what I wanna get on top of the trailer lol

Hopefully. Walmart has these fake light up cherry trees that's the "tree" and blossoms that are the lights. No leaves. So I'm gonna have to get a buncha fake leaves/vines to fix that lol
