The movers won't be doing any packing, so since he can't mom to can the $200 worth of tomatoes before they go bad, he can't get her to pack, so he has to do it all

I suppose you could blanch them & freeze in ziploc bags but they'd need a pretty big freezer!1

Buy a lot cheap from the farmer, freeze it, lasts half the year minimum
Back when the nearby pig farm used to be operational we'd get free ground pork from them (only two pounds) cuz we never complained about the smell...that comes from the cow farm down the road
Confused the hell outta me the one time the guy delivered them to me, fortunately my parents knew what was up and explained lol

Also yes mom canned the tomatoes. Once they're sealed she does remove the rings

Canned seems to preserve better then frozen & lasts longer I think.

And speaking of canned stuff, the material handler for the past few days has been bringing in canned peaches to scarf down
The first time I saw it I thought it was canned CORN and was all "what in the fuck?"
