Yeah, there's still a ton of smaller things left so dad asked me if I would prefer him just grabning random things throughout the house or room by room. I said room by room so that I can redo said room as they're finished
Starting with the kitchen cuz it is STILL a mess and the sooner that's cleaned the sooner I can properly use it without all of mom's random junk in the way

Change of the seasons does that too ... also dust etc stirred up from the moving could get you stuffed up...or one of the movers brought foreign germs into your environment.

$250 on food n kitchenware. Cleared out the freezer, we had something dated use by [m/d/2017], so lots of stuff thrown out

Perfect time to get rid of the old food stuff and start new.

Some great house hold stuff sales going on right now if you can add the coupons or extra discounts. But the dollar store has spatulas and pot holders and that kind of stuff- even betty crocker & other name brands.

Sadly by the time dad n I are awake and ready to shop basically the only place open is Walmart
Half the town shuts down at eight, the majority of the rest 10/11, and walmart is the only one that isn't a restaurant

I have two pots and a skillet
One flat spatula (LMAO)

Bought today:
Three measuring ups (1 cup, 2 cup, 4 cup). Five if you count the two still here
Six mixing bowls of various sizes. All come with lids
A bent spatula (I imagine for easier scooping of patties)
A ladle
A slotted spoon
^those three were part of a set
One (1) can opener
Two 20-pack silverware sets (so 4 knives per, 8 spoons and 8 forks per pack. Forks n spoons are half n half large/small)
A lil divider for the silverware. Have all the forks in one slot cuz I have chopsticks. Which got used today for cooking n eating cuz my silverware was in the washer
Colander
Three towels+washcloths, which fell onto the muddy driveway but I planned on washing them before using them. Just three for now, I'll get more down the road
Garbage bags
Food
Spices. Of which dad found a Chinese five spice n a Japanese 7 spice duo in with theirs that look like they were part of a set

Dropped $250 and I already have more added to the kitchen shopping list. At least I have plenty of bags

Replacing & starting new adds up in cost, hopefully you can find some deals.
Walmart has a pretty good selection at a decent price. I do shop for online deals but make sure they can be returned for free.
Sounds like you have your kitchen "essentials" at least.

Yeah, that $250 also had food mixed in so it's likely closer to $150-200 range on the stuff
So it's not as bad as it looks
Still not cheap tho

Most annoying part is finding microwave/dishwasher safe

Good you are checking if they are dishwasher & microwave safe.

Sometimes Costco has a good price on pans ... got to look for it.
Too bad bed bath & beyonds have closed they'd have good coupons, got a few pans & kitchen stuff that way at a much reduced price.
Kohl's you can get Plush bath towels for $5 or less if you look for their sales & get the 30-40% off plus use the Kohls cash you can earn to get stuff free.

The measuring cups don't explicitly say so, but they're meant to handle high heat, plus I'd rarely throw them in there so I'm pretty sure I'm safe there anyway. Worse comes to worst I transfer the liquid

The local BB&B shuttered after they had a fire lol

My shopping options for the hours I'm awake is basically just walmart. If I get up early then yeah, there's other places but most of this town is closed at eight, and the rest is ten (barring walmart, which closes at eleven)
