Not a cedar chest, I've got one in my room storing mostly canvases and another downstairs, this is something different. Has drawers and the top is lower than the sides so the garden doesn't fit in it. Plus it's big, bulky, and not of use for me while my nieces can use it at mom n dad's place, like the table
As to if any of it is antique, maybe. But they've been used and so won't be of much monetary value like people would see them

There's also a dresser downstairs that needs to be cleared out, and then it'll eventually go up in my room, which will have to be cleaned first and the artist's desk n storage stuff moved to the crafts room first, so there's a lot of stuff waiting on other stuff and it comes down to "mom get your shit outta my house"
Also dad has more in the house than he n I realized cuz it's out of the way and we both forgot lol
No I don't have a way to put my clothes away right now, so they just stay in laundry tubs clean until I have enough dirty clothes to run laundry
I imagine that keeping my room clean will be easier once I have the dresser in my room

Are you concentrating on completing (setting up) one or two rooms at a time or are you shotgunning it?

It sounds like getting everything of the P's cleared out completely is going to be impossible in the near term...

Did the P's move into a space larger, smaller or the same size than what they had at your place (of course minus your room/s)? Can they fit everything over there?

Larger, yet somehow they have less storage space. It's a conundrum for all of us
Some things, like the seasonal fireplace mantel decor mom has, understandable. They don't have a fireplace like that anymore and once everything is done mine won't be so cramped lol
Kitchen? Larger. Cabinet space? Non-existent. Somehow. Dad used to gripe about the lack of storage space in mine, and now he's wishing he had that much space again lol. Their bathroom is much smaller, I think maybe half the size of mine
But so much of it is "how is your house so much bigger and yet so much smaller?"

Well, last night I took my socket set and got the legs off the table. One's about to break. Again, judging by the glue. Took a pic of the detached legs and sent it to dad
Woke up to the rocking chair and a couple small things left from the long line of stuff to move in the dining room and my dining set and cat stuff being the only things in the living room. I'm going with dad hooked up his trailer and did a big move
So now in regards to rooms that need cleaning still, due to mom's stuff everywhere-
Back room: the closet still needs removal, and a lot of that space is logged by the cardboard waiting to be burned. I may need to relegate that to dad if I don't do a bonfire instead. Bonfire would require removal of the shed dad has installed near the fire pit tho, at least from that area
Fireplace room: has a couple blankets that really need cleaning, and is the secondary area Corbin pukes in. It's got two litterboxes, both sawdust/cedar chips. Has a tall skinny China cabinet that's mostly glass that still has a few things in it, but I expect it to be a mostly simple process once I get to that room
Dining room: Corbin's primary puke/shit zone, has a litterbox but puppy pads will really help. Has multiple things that will need moving to other rooms
Dad's old bedroom: not a priority at all, I forget that room exists LOL
Living room: basically waiting for the other rooms to be cleaned up so it can really be decorated, this is the room that had the big things
Hallway/bathroom: bathroom is basically done so it's going to be done with the hallway, which is some yarn and a lot of books as well as removing a bookshelf dad had installed. Once I'm upstairs, this will be the priority due to things moving between rooms. Technically this includes the stairwell, but since that's been swept fairly recently, the stairs are fine
Mom's old bedroom: clear out everything except the dressers. This will become the rental room, and having some stuff in there will hopefully make renting it a bit easier, as it means that the tenant won't have to worry about a bed or somewhere to store their clothes
Craft room: thankfully is mostly done, as it's the first room dad worked on after the kitchen, but the TV, bed, a magazine stack, and a few other things are in there, so it does have some stuff needing to be removed. Has shelving I may get installed in mom's old bedroom as well
The work room: gonna be the lowest priority, as it can and will also double as storage as the other rooms are done
My room: yes, my room has stuff that will be taken out and other things put in, so I will need to clean it up
Basement: only work down there is washer and dryer and the heating system that hasn't been used in ~25 years. There is zero priority for the basement

Progress!

It sounds like the tardis in size, hahaha

Wow, you are actually getting rooms cleared & marked for other things ... like renting a room which will bring in money to help pay for costs. nice.

The what?

Yeah, thankfully I have friends who will help, like my one friend's bf who helped me with getting the table, so when it gets to getting that dresser upstairs, I'll have help. The artist's desk in my room I'll prolly need help with maneuvering
I figure $500/month until I get a washer and dryer, then it'll be $600/month. Comes with access to laundry, internet, kitchen, bathroom, so yeah the tenant will only have one room to themselves but they'll have access to utilities, which is a good price considering the rent for an apartment around here is 1k+, and that's just the unit

Not a Dr.Who fan I guess (the Tradis he travels in looks like a UK phone booth on the outside but is a space craft inside.

Renting is so expensive now! Rooms around us are going for close to $1k, insane.

Never seen it, so naturally I am not

Yeah my friend had to move out of an apartment cuz they decided to jack the rent from $1200/month to $1400/month and not renew her lease as a result
My mortgage is $1095.95/month. For an entire house, garage, 3/4 acre yard, I am paying less than a 1/1 apartment that's maybe, at best, 3/4ths the size of my downstairs. It's ridiculous

If you want to rent a house in my area you are looking at a minimum of $3,000.00 a month, not including utilities. You want a garage it goes up.

Unless people got signed into a long term lease the prices can go up rapidly.

Nice, Kit...that at least is doable...and your mortgage is an investment.
