Friends find a way to visit or keep in contact...it's the age of tecnology....I always think about how the colonialist 's or pioneers left their friends and families knowing they might never see or hear from them again ( mail wasn't a big thing back then or just difficult to get even)... makes me thankful for living in the time I do now...I would have been way too sad back then!

Have you ever heard of a selkie? They are a race of Irish faeries who were from the seas. They'd crawl up onto the shore, shed their sea skin and become human, very good looking ones. I've read some really cool stories of selkies but this page briefly explains them.

Leprechauns are a class of faeries as well.

The word selkie seems familiar. But I'll have to read that page later.

I thought so.

Of course, all fairies answer to me, the fairy queen. (Even though I'm a guy, I'm still the queen).

It seemed familiar to me too when I learned about them, I don't know why.

Ooooh!!! Selkie items! : O Is that what you're wearing now gingerale?
Probably Scottish. I think they're more prevalent in Scottish folklore, though I may just not know my knee from my elbow.
I'll have to get my Celtic Mythology Anthology (I like the way that sounds) but I know that there's a selkie tale in it. In the tale, once you touch the selkie, you can't let go. So it drags you to the bottom of the sea with it.

I think it was the Colin Farrell movie "Ondine" :
[+] SPOILER
"Fisherman Syracuse (Colin Farrell), a recovering alcoholic, lives with his daughter, Annie (Alison Barry), in a small village on the Irish coast. One afternoon, a mystifying and beautiful girl, Ondine (Alicja Bachleda), gets caught in his nets as he wades along the water. Aboard the boat, Ondine brings Syracuse great luck, seemingly drawing the fish towards his nets. However, the fisherman starts to fear that Ondine may not be meant for this life.
