Welcome back! I always say, you can't go somewhere without bringing back souvenirs! Glad you had a good trip... shopping...sightseeing...lots of fun...do you get a couple days off before having to start back to work?

Welcome back, Ryvvi!

I haven't been online for a long time so I don't know where you went.

I'm saving money to go to Lithuania.

That sounds exciting.

As soon as I improve my language skills and raise enough cash. I currently have no income. I'd probably go in the summer or spring break so it wouldn't interfere with my studies.

there were times when i felt pretty impolite, like when i would apologise or thank them in english out of habit and ordering meals at restaurants was a nightmare D: But mostly we went and did tourist things where the staff would speak fluent english mostly. That was when i felt the rudest though, because they had to speak my language in their country ;-;

I wonder if there are any apps for phones where you can type in English what you want to say and it will translate the other language for you? I saw that they have a program that deaf people can use...and there are "dictionaries" available so now I am curious as to whether there are electronic translators out there.

I learned that other countries like to practice their English, or so they said...but here in the U.S. we tend to frown on those people who don't attempt to speak English while they are here.

i only held onto the fact that when people who come into my work and cant speak english well or at all im not too bothered

I suppose after a few days you probably are able to pick up enough words to be able to get by anyway.

I am always impressed by people that are able to speak more then their native tongue. Languages are just so difficult for me.
