If you use non-toxic inks or food coloring, shouldn't they still be fine to eat afterwards?

The dye wasn't really the issue.
It was more of... keeping them out to dry while we were decorating them and dyeing them.

we use to blow the egg out of the shell and then paint the egg and have it to keep or just use boil the eggs, food dye and color them and eat them right away afterwards.But I liked the painting not the eating.

My Mom has some Ukrainian painted eggs that are coated with a sealant some of them are hollow but some still have the raw egg inside! Can you imagine if those broke! Probably in time they dried up? But they were heavy, so maybe not?

Lemon: Ahh, that's a smart idea. I've never thought of that before.

I've done something similar to that though! We sealed the color with wax and did intricate designs. I forget the name of it though...
I did it in an art class. But we took the egg part out, then decorated it.
