Star Talk ~ Share your secrets with the stars

For anyone with a burning desire to chat, post, or just chill and hang! Talks don't necessarily need to be centered around stars and space (just talk about anything, seriously), but look out for my star updates on celestial events coming up!

Some star-themed quotes to get you through the day:

My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations
~ John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

It is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars
~ Richard Evans

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars
~ Oscar Wilde

I have met in the streets a very poor young man who was in love.
His hat was old, his coat worn, the water passed through
his shoes and the stars through his soul
~ Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

Nice thread Polaris! Congratulations on starting a thread - stars, my favorite !

I like this quote you had ( actually they all are good):"It is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars"
~ Richard Evans

because we often forget it is the challenges that mold us and bring out the strengths in our character

Exactly! I try to remember that there's always light at the end of the tunnel, that to know happy days means to also know sad days. If it weren't for the darkness or the clouds, sometimes we wouldn't know where to look.

How has your day been so far?

My day has been fairly relaxing, posting on here, cleaning, posting, cooking and then watching some shows then watching the rain fall.

Stars *___*
I love outer space. I think it'd be a nice death. I mean... we feel so small.

Thank you everyone! I hope to post a weekly star question or some kind of space-related thing.
Besides that, this is just another hang out thread (and one that came at an opportune time too! more threads to post on for more feathers for gifts!)

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"
~ Oscar Wilde
reminds me that we are all in similar circumstances and go through similar experiences but some of us are looking at the muck in the gutter and others are looking to the stars and beyond - meaning brighter days, what is to come, the potential before us. We often label people dreamers but if they didn't have the visions or dreams some of our ancestors would never have crossed the ocean to what awaited them in new lands.

But be careful, there's a joke about Thales of Miletus tripping because he was looking up all the time xD

WHOA NASA!!

https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-telescope-reveals-largest-batch-of-earth-size-habitable-zone-planets-around

So NASA announced earlier at 1pm EST today about 7 exoplanets in a star system. These 9 Earth-like planets are in the star system TRAPPIST-1. This discovery reveals the first known system in which 7 exoplanets all revolve around a single star! The system itself is 40 light years away from us in the constellation of Aquarius (kudos to ya if this is your zodiac sign - aquarius, the water bearer also bears planets!).
