I missed mars passing by the moon! Did anyone get to see it???

I just read Mars is supposed to be so closest to the Earth on Tues and you can see it with the naked eye.
Maybe time to try & get some pics! Or just enjoy the view!

I unfortunately missed it :c
I had to sleep early and wake up at an awkward hour to catch the first of my lectures.

Mars will be making its closest approach to Earth (or already has, depending on where you are in the world) on October 6th and it won't be this close to Earth until 2035!

If you want to see more martian events, watch out for October 13! Earth will be passing between the Sun and Mars next week Tuesday, October 13.

Oop forgot to update this thread!

Tonight, on All Hallows' Eve (Halloween), Uranus is at opposition! This means that Uranus will be on the opposite side of the Earth and Sun, and so will be at its brightest and most easily seen. Although it may be hard to see Uranus in the sky, take comfort in knowing the primordial God of the Sky is watching over! Hope he doesn't set his sights on trying to eat the Olympians Titans coming out of the depths of Tartarus and bringing a harsh reckoning!

Woopsies mixed up my mythology (even though I'm an active reader of Lore Olympus and loved the Percy Jackson books )! Kronos ate the Olympians and Ouranos/Uranus casted the Titans into Tartarus.

So far it's been an amazing day: Woke up to wonderful messages from my friends and family, my parents surprised me with cake from my favorite bakery since I hadn't been home for my birthday for a few years (and this year I'm studying my degree from home ahh), and we're looking at going out for dinner (or alternatively getting takeaway from my favorite restaurant)!
