Starting and ending the school year to coincide with the calendar year makes more sense than what we do. But then again, summer break is a tradition/part of growing up for us.

Our schools here do "late start" on Mondays and Wednesdays are half days in the elementary school (go home early). Late start was always better than going home early if you ask me! :0

I kind of know how it works from movies and stuff but i'm just used to how we do it
I guess our end - start of year break is our unofficially titled summer break since our summer is December - February
:cheer: Late start does sound nice. It means sleeping in!

I like to sleep in...my coworker gets up at 5 am so she can go on a long walk before she starts work...not me, I give my self 15 minutes to get ready and sleep until the last minute. (Of course prepping ahead... like getting my clothes laid out the night before... helps facilitate that happening).

I usually wake up at 6 in order to get to my bus/train early (That's at the house i live further away to school from) and at my closer house i usually still have to wake up at 6 to keep my sleep routine regular. Then i'll just watch YouTube and get ready then i go to my friends house because she lives less then 3 minutes away and we catch a bus to school. I used to have to wait 10-15 minutes for her to finish getting ready sometimes but nowadays she usually meets me half way.
As long as i have my laptop and uniform ready i'm good to go!
Then there's my two other friends that live right next to school and just wake up 15 minutes before class starts :worry:

you need to catch a ride to school wioth them!

I've taken a bus to school but never a train...are the seats more comfortable? Our school buses over here are so uncomfortable and the buses rattle and vibrate and you feel every pot hole or bump they go over.

Our public transport system is actually not bad over here. There's definitely been a decrease in the graffiti in the last few years since they started being more harsh with fines and since my train is going the opposite way of the city there's usually plenty of spare seats as opposed to the packed city line.
To get from my mum's house to school is a bus, a train ride and another bus and i'm right at school! I usually get there super early too so i should probably try and catch a later bus but i'd rather be early.
Comparing it to Japan's packed trains... we've got it pretty good over here.

That's a long ride everyday! <I'm not going to complain anymore when traffic is slow>

I always wondered how you can pack a city bus so full and it is still deemed safe...and how is it that not wearing a car seat belt is a hefty fine yet you can be standing on a bus and its ok?

It goes by pretty quick with the right music~

I wondered that too... I guess there's a higher risk of an accident in a car?

It's the difference of transporting a cow in a sling so it won't fall or shoved in a packed cattle car with the rest of them where its every cow for himself ...

I've never heard someone compare packed public transport to cattle transportation
That made me laugh a little

Sorry about that crazy thing. My new avie must be affecting me. It's a crazy fairy boy. His hair is long and unkempt because he's too crazy to care about his hygiene.
