fair enough, don't like them in stews either, but they're great when... fried with sugar? caramel? i think that's the word for it.

I'd try those!

I do put mine in a stew, gives it a savory flavor. If I use mashed then it just thickens up the broth.

roasted small red potato's are delicious as well!

Our deep fried potato's are french fries or country style.
