Sounds like a slow burn book

It's pretty well-paced IMHO - but it's more sedate, like a Ghibli movie where a lot of space is allotted just to showing mundane life, traveling, and showing off the scenery. It contributes a lot to characterization, but it also could be too slow and boring to those who prefer something plot-important happening every few paragraphs.

I see, so it more for character development than action pack

But how's the mystery part? Is it well designed?

I'm glad yall like the Wanderer!

The book sounds intriguing! Character development is good! Some stories have too much action and not enough development of characters

I should, but it's a hassle, so I only do it with Pokemon avatars in the Pokemon cosplay thread

It's straightforward - there aren't really any tight twists or any multi-layered plots going on, just the slow unraveling of the chara. The simplicity of it didn't stop me from still feeling bad for the chara tho.

True - tension can make for a riveting read, but having that breathing space to get to know the characters and to feel the toll the events had taken on them is also important!

Something about holding a book & being able to flip through pages is relaxing.

I heard the Star Wars original trilogy novelizations were good. I probably should check out the other novels - there's a bunch of them in a second hand bookstore.
OOO Magic Thief seems interesting, tho it might not be the style I enjoy anymore. Maybe my sister might enjoy it more.

Very true! Physical copies are also just easier to annotate/underline

I never read the original trilogy books, but I have the Attack of the Clones novelization from the prequels
Yeah, it's a little different than what I'm used to, not sure exactly why, but I still like it
