oh no lol I'd mostly just browse and window shop when I went to the mall with my friends.

The closest "mall" didn't pan out as one so now it's a bunch of businesses, two restaurants, and a church so to do that and not be at a nearly dead one we can either go to the one that was cheaply built on a swamp and thus has been sinking over the years, or go even further out to a huge one and spend even more money we don't have

Not having laundry here is painful lol
Means I have to go to mom n dad's to do it and those machines you might as well add at least one hour to their times
Only have one load fully done, but thankfully dad'll finish it for me

They took the washer and dryer? I've gotten a used set for free once

And it's not like I can easily shop for a new one, the truck died so between me, mom, n dad we only have the car

Oh that sucks... I lucked out that a friend of a friend had a set they were getting rid of. They both worked for years (still working last I knew--gave them away), yeah, but moving them was difficult. Luckily a neighbor had a truck and we moved the set. Yay!

I've got other priorities though: at least two rooms are gonna be repainted, got the papers for the various shades of green I want to use for the upstairs hallway, the bathroom needed to be redone 20-odd years ago, and restocking stuff i need as mom n (mostly) dad get more n more of their stuff out and take what's mine

Perhaps you can do something on the flooring or ceiling to lighten it up? Perhaps more lighting?

Thankfully it's just the sample cards so the actual painting hasn't been done yet

Saved by the paint sample cards! They're so helpful, but keep in mind usually paint can end up being darker or lighter in "mass quantities" depending on light and the colors/reflections of the room contents when they're back in the room. I hope you're enjoing the process. So much fun!

Sometimes with appliances here it is only an added $100 to have them deliver and install .... worth the extra money... yo don't want to put a friend or relatives back out.

Even if the paint was lighter the majority of the cards are wayy too dark, so at least I can eliminate them safely

True but I'd need the money in the first place
