Some not so cool work stuff:
Couple days ago now we had a nasty thunderstorm roll overhead for over an hour
So because of the mandatory half hour wait after the last strike, the park was, in essence, shut down for about two hours
One of the strikes was close enough it overwhelmed the surge protectors, fried 40 PoS systems, and electrocuted someone who was in contact with one as it happened
IT has only ever a handful of spares on hand at any one time, in case one goes bad one did last year and it was hilarious to look at so they're now running around like headless chickens because some stores now can't do any sales because there's no PoS and not everything has a price tag attached

Today was a lot slower, I didn't even go out though
One of the leads was in the glow room earlier and made a mess of things so because I'm most experienced plus i have a multitool, i got to stay in and clean up. Also set up the booth and start filling up the barrels
Multitool has a knife good for cutting the tape open to break down cardboard boxes
I didn't finish filling entirely, still a couple things left, but that room is very much cleaner now so our lead today was very pleased
And then me and the irregular both messed up our inventory sheets: she forgot to add in $60 in sales and I said selling multiple of an $8 items only resulted in $8 total, not the actual total
And then she and I ended up both $5 over
Two new girls, at least new for glow, I don't know how they did

good thing you ended up checking your inventory sheets! If your til is out are you accountable?

Lighting is scary. Actually not sure if lightning or thunder is scarier!

Thunder is the air yeeting away from the lightning
I think if you're close enough for the thunder to damage you, the lightning will too
Unless loud sudden sounds are something you're sensitive to in the first place

The garage is detached, and by the back porch and a bolt struck kitty corner from the house, behind the garage

Then there was that group that set off sixty pounds of some sort of explosive at the other end of the street
Shook the house, which was a good ~5 miles away
Mom insisted it was my summer job practicing fireworks
Except wrong direction and those never make the house shake
Amazingly I was right
