I'm a little worried. My friend got fired from the job I'm starting since she met her 90 days and they didn't choose her to hire on.
It makes me worry that I wont be able to get hired on when the time comes. Ofc, McDonalds will still take me back (the managers there love me and I like them too and I cried as I left work today), but I dont want to go from temp job to temp job either. I like stability. I like knowing I'll have a job still after 90 days. But if I lose it after so long, I'd probably have to go back to mcdonalds and just find a second job since mcdonalds dont pay enough and I hate working all the time.

Sounds like you're in a good spot, so you can afford to ride it out and see where it goes.

Really good that you didn't burn your bridges when you left. Some people don't get that and do the worst as they walk out the door.

I think 90 days is a standard trial period...it gives your employer protection to let the employee go if they don't seem to be able to handle the job...but it also gives the employee an opportunity for an out without quitting if they don't like the job. Benefits often start after the 3 months are up.

Now, if the employer constantly lets people go after three months to avoid paying benefits then that isn't a place you want to stay at. If the employer pays health benefits (or towards it) and other benefits sometimes that is enough to equate to having to work a second job to cover so even though the hourly wage may be less the benefits make it more. Did McD's give you benefits?

Sugar is such a tough one to give up! Fresh fruit does help curb the cravings and white sugar definitely is considered a "poison" to our bodies.

You keep at it Monkeygirl! I'm proud of you!

March feels like it was just yesterday...

And I'm getting into wanting to learn how to make jewelry. So I can sell it. In etsy.

Welcome home! Wow, has it been that long?!

Sounds like a fun and possibly profitable hobby/pastime. What kind of jewelry are you making and what are the materials you're working with?

I've noticed that trinkets that have some uniqueness--like containing a material only found locally to you, or a style your area is known for, tend to do well with others outside the area. (Marketing angle/appeal.)

Beaded jewelry, mostly.

Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, charms, keychains are a possibility.

I thought about using perler beads as well, but idk if it's any use. It doesnt give off the look I'm looking for. Just something I wanted to try out.
