ooh! Okay, what I had was more like Roti Tisu. Is it just regular bread? It can't be! It has to be made with something special or prepared differently...

The roti I had was this one:

The cafe was so cute!

Their menu is adooorable:

My friend bought a "mini toast", it was like a big fluffy bread, so delicious!

But now I have questions...
The "Famous Cube" was really cool, we saw someone get it. There's cubes of something (ice?) and you pour cold milk on top (so not ice?) and it melts and mixes into a drink. I have no idea what it would be! Have you ever had anything like this before? If I google "famous cube" I find rubix :frustration:

I think Thai Toast is really just bread... right?

Is Sa-Koo Sai sweet? I google it and just see pork filled tapioca dumplings. I'm not sure how I feel about it...

I went to many other cafes in my travels! here's some that were interesting:
[+] SPOILER
Lady Yum sells only macarons! And it's so cute and pink!!! Can I live here?
Image

I really liked the spread of this pastry shop, it was near the national park but I am not sure the name of it. We stopped because the water stands all closed so early and we were dying, but it was a nice surprise. haha

When food is so creatively prepared you almost <almost> don't want to eat it! ( That's why we take photo's first I guess!).

Yeah, desserts have the most camera potential IMO!! Recently the craze in Malaysia is all about bubble tea-
we have an entire street full of shops that just sell boba tea and they all have crazy queues//

I hope you are at least out enjoying the mountain, Shiro!

Mur, boba tea isn't as popular here...I think it depends on where you live and how it is marketed.

Yeah, country trends are weird but cool.
We even have a boba bingo game (I've completed 10/35 shops!!)

Some of the boba shops sell the tea in hard plastic reusable bottles that I use as a water bottle afterwards~

hk people live on boba in general but since the stores have to compete with each other, they're super good and usually cost like 3.6usd as a result :strain:
some stores do have a discount for using reusable boba cups though!

wow ~! So beautiful and serene!
With the mossy walls it looks like it must get a lot of rain there. Hydrangea grow wild there!?!?!? I always thought of them as a cultivated plant!... I wonder if I could grow them here or if it is too dry... bug bites are so annoying! Mosquito or other bugs? Citronella smell or candles help deter mosquitos.

Thanks for sharing!

Do you know what they mean by 3 Generation tree? Is it a tree that sprouts from itself or its seeds made new trees? Very interesting how they all grew!

Boy, that squirrel gets fed well! :)

@lemon yea it's super rainy here! i think some of the hydrangeas around hotels and buildings are cultivated but they also probably naturally grow here because the forestry bureau won't just allow people to plant something that could possibly be invasive
i do have bug spray but i still get one or two bites here and there C": it's inevitable

galled
the 3 generation tree is basically a tree that's grown on top of another decaying tree (second gen) that previously grown on the first decaying tree (first gen)! the third gen tree takes nutrients from decomposition of the second gen tree

the squirrels are fat but they aren't supposed to be fed |D i wonder if someone's been breaking the rules

that's interesting on how they educate people on the history of the generation of tree growths!

Someone is always trying to sneak a peanut to the tree squirrel's!!

Hope you are having fun!

yea the 神木 section of alishan was incredibly interesting! there were quite a few trees that were over 1000 years old

i am back in the land of the living!!! no more 20kbs wifi weeee
still some outages though |D
on the second last day i got a really nasty bug bite on my thigh and i don't know if i should get it checked out by the doctor or not, it kind of looks and feels like a really big mosquito bite
