galled: I can play the disc on my computer but my family wanted to watch it with me and it's not so comfortable that way.

Hocus Pocus: I don't have a game console. The last time I played video games was when I was 9 and had a game boy color haha

Diana: that's where the inspiration comes from! Baba Yaga. Growing up, I read many Russian fairytales and the ones featuring her always stood out to me.

just dropping by to say hello and to say I looked up Baba yaga cause it intrigued me that I had never heard of it before .... I thought it may have been some new anime...nevermind to be surprised to find out that it is very old... the old witch in the woods sounds similar to the Hanzel and Gretel theme. The one story,Vasilisa the beautiful, which sounded similar to Cinderella,sounds like it would be an interesting one to read. I have not researched which came first the Grimm's fairytales or the Russian fairytales but either way it shows how one culture influences another.But I was surprised to find out that sick children long ago in real life were actually placed in a warm oven... which makes you wonder if they got left there too long and died and as a result the story came about of being baked in an oven....

Aha, Baba Yaga!

I noticed this immediately, although this Hangout seems to be a little quiet~

Baga Yaga is my favourite fairytale ever, I adore it. Always has been. So I love reading about it. My boyfriend is actually Russian, so he'd tell me about how his mom would tell him stories as a kid- way cooler than the Boogeyman!
