I did love her with all my heart. I still do. Saying goodbye to her was the worst pain I have ever felt. She did so much for me. I usually do take the day to celebrate her. It still brings me pain though. I am glad my girlfriends Janna and Molly (I'm poly, so I am not cheating. They know about each other.) don't mind that I celebrate Valentines Day with them the weekend before or after. Usually, weather permitting, I pack a lunch for both me and my late wife and I sit and have lunch with her at her grave. It sounds stupid but I love it.
I like to think so as well. I will always remember her. We had 3 children together, my oldest, Jaden, my oldest son Daniel and my daughter that looks a lot and acts a lot like her, Maria. It's great that I can see her in my kids. : ) It's nice to see her live on in them.

Howya been Lemon?

Life isn't always easy but it does have it's memorable moments to enjoy. How lovely you can see your wife in your children and that they at least knew her if even for a brief time. My Dad died when I was 6 so I have forgotten most about him but I do have some very special memories and once in awhile I catch some of my mannerism's that remind me of him. I have a step father since, and I do love him, but I still wonder about my Dad so it is always great to see pictures or films or hear people talk about him. As kids we use to go to his grave to clean the tombstone and for some weird reason it seemed like there was still a connection. Then we moved and the rest of life happened. One day I will go back there.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. It's tough on young children to lose parents. It's nice that you feel like you can get to know him through other people's stories. You should go back someday. : )

My children were also very young. Jaden was 9, Daniel was 6 and Maria was 5. Jaden was able to grasp it the most, since she was the oldest but I struggled to explain to the younger two that mommy wasn't going to come back. And it was pretty painful. But eventually they understood. And I think that their mother would be very proud of them today. I think your dad would feel the same. : )
