Has anyone done something called Hazard Perception test as part of their written (called theory over here) driving test? We had some very uncanny valley videos to watch and point out hazards at the right time.

I think my weirdest driving experience was when I was in the Republic of Ireland. As soon as you get over the border to Northern Ireland, the road and speed signs instantly revert to mainland UK style. For example IRL uses kilometres and the UK uses miles. It's weird because there's currently no physical border between the two so it just changes.

Autumn: I thought the UK was on the metric system and that is why Canada changed way back? I think Australia is on the metric, will have to look...the US uses metric but is still prevalently old style Fahrenheit and miles etc.

For some reason we use half metric and half imperial measurements. The process to switch completely from imperial started in the 70s(?) I think.

Examples are:
Imperial:
Road signs
Person's height & weight

Metric:
Food weight and volume
Length/width of objects/buildings

The only time they teach imperial measurements in school is only to work out what it is in metric. It's ridiculous that they stopped half way.
