There are firework displays for New Year's Day that you can go to but I believe we are only allowed limited fireworks on Independence day...which really doesn't make sense that we can have them during the drought but not when it is our rainy season.

oops I meant limited personal fireworks and they limit what kind and where you can have them. It is a $2000 and up fine in my area if you have fireworks but 10 minutes drive, down the freeway, away from me they can have them.

California has such bad fire issues they probably shouldn't have any personal fireworks at all... too many people are irresponsible.

So many complicated rules on fireworks. You can buy personal fireworks at the supermarket here. I think they need to be more restricted because people can be really stupid and dangerous with them.

I remember a long time ago reading about some drama in the fireworks industry. The US gets the vast majority of its fireworks from China, and if I remember correctly, it’s basically a monopoly, with one (or only a few) companies controlling everything from the manufacturing to travel across the pacific.
