I never check the unread threads.
I had it up to 1,000+ at one point.

you can always mark them a sread and start new

(since you have replied to so many threads, the threads will all probably show up under your "my posts" tab - so it's not like you will lose them.

I mainly just stick to the my posts tab and only occasionally venture out to the unread area when i'm bored and you're all asleep
