I saw Arrival - wasn't quite what I was expecting, I was confused abit by it to be honest in regards to the flashbacks she was having about her daughter. What did you think of it?

Sometimes if the dough is too cold - or the yeast didn't set- it won't rise, regardless if if you knead it or not

It was definitely quite interesting!! warning spoilers:

I think what the aliens were telling the humans was these things. 1) They know that 3000 years into the future, they will need humanity's help, so they're here to offer a gift, or a tool which is their language.
2) Their language can alter human's perception of time (they discussed this theory where changing languages changes how people thing) which is why Louise was able to see into the future and stop China from going to war with them.
3) Her daughter was part of her future, so the aliens arrived before she was born. She married Ian but knew her daughter would die of some rare disease and because Ian did not fully learn the alien's language, he could not understand her and left her.

That's most of what I was able to pick up from my first watch. It was a bit confusing but the more I thought about it the more it ties together. ^^

It's quite warm here in HK in comparison to other areas so it should be fine. It actually looks like dough though so that's a relief. xD
