Sorry to hear that you're not feeling great. Get yourself some paracetamol (I think it's called acetaminophen where you are) and get lots of rest too.

I generally take ibuprophen...never thought of medications being called different names in others countries...I thought they all went by the same scientific name.

Mostly my throat is dry and when I talk it gets a tickle that makes me cough. The low grade fever isn't too bad, just achy.

It sounds like the Ibuprofen (we even spell the same names differently) will be better for you considering your other symptoms are worse. You'd think they would be so that they had universal names.

I hope you're feeling better.

We do have acetaminophen (Tylenol brand) but I go for the ibuprofen which seems to work better for me. They both have contra indications, one for liver and the other for stomach I believe but I only take 500 mg.

Am going to try cough candies (lozenges) today to see if that helps with the tickle. Less runny nose today so that is good.

You guys are so sweet to be concerned...thank you!

Hopefully it helps with the thoart. Have you tried having some honey? I find honey on toast or honey in warm milk works for me.

No worries, Lemon <3

uhhuh honey in hot lemon. Oh! I suppose I could just try eating a spoonful by itself since honey is a kind of natural antibiotic...but I feel much better today (although the wind has started up again and I think that is how I got into this position to begin with).

I'm actually feeling much better...just a bit of a squeaky/hoarse voice left.

Thank you! I feel like I have more energy today so I am going to try and be productive and am washing all my germy towels and sheets etc. and disinfect the house so I don't spread it.

That’s a great plan! Clean living spaces feel so nice, too.

In ASL, the sign for clean is the same as nice, and I think there’s some secondary meaning of nice that’s related to cleanliness in English. Languages are fascinating.

Languages are fascinating...i'm just not very good at them...no matter how hard I try my mind just can't make distinctions of what I hear (I'm better at reading another language and translating that way).

For the longest time I always thought the deaf spoke one universal language and was very surprised to find out ASL in not the only sign language...but when you think about it, it makes sense they would not.

I’m late deafened, so making auditory distinctions is a bit impossible for me. I’m trying to study a bit of linguistics.

I used to be conversational in ASL, but it fell by the wayside since I’m isolated from other signers and my hands are very bad.

There are even regional differences in ASL throughout the US, much like there are regional distinctions in spoken English.
