Well, we marched a lot every Monday, so that was physical. Plus we learned how to use sail boats, tie knots, take command, etc. There was a lot of standing in ceremonies and marching. We also went to summer camp (I never did, I had other camps) and volunteer work. Oh, and scuba diving but both times it happened I couldn't go.
I actually became the second highest rank! I had to do an interview for it and write a letter saying why I was fit for the rank and everything! Tbh, in my letter I said I WASN'T fit for it, but I got it anyway. Plus I got a long service award for being in the program for 7 years!
You age out at iirc your 19th birthday (could've been 18th) and, unless the cadet year ends close to your birthday, you can't finish the year. But me? Well, the end of year barbecue happened to fall ON my birthday. There were two cakes, water guns, delicious food, etc. They got me to put my face in one of the cakes (the part that had my face was then removed), something I had never done before! Man, it was great
