Water. Water magic is often depicted as being used for healing, so I could help people with it, while also being able to fight with it. Plus, there's water vapour in the air. And maybe some control of the water inside living things?

earth magic for me! i've often been described as too headstrong, so I connected really well with Toph Beifong (avatar) as an Earth Bender. Plus I just think it's really cool to be able to bend the ground beneath you (could fully just bend my own island away ahahaha

Light elemental magic or dark elemental magic?

(dark magic doesn't inherently mean evil or demon-controlling, rather you can control shadows and darkness and elements that feed on the night(?) --> see manga: Villainess Level 99 ~I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord~

Ahem, darkness. I've always loved the idea of wielding shadows. Although I hate having to choose because I'm all about balance. Anyway, I've always thought of darkness not being evil, just misunderstood. We need both darkness and light for balance.

Death magic, like necromancy and blood magic, or life magic, like healing and creating familiars and golems?

If the times are peaceful, I'd go with life magic. If the times are chaotic, death magic it is.
