My budgie (Charlie) likes to chirp at the alarm on the oven. He can't mimic it perfectly but he copies the beats. My husband is away for work this week. So I sent him a voice recording of the alarm going off and I told him it was Charlie perfectly mimicking it. I normally send him random audio recordings of the budgie when he is away - so not out of the ordinary. Anyway, he actually fell for it LOL.

I taught my budgie to chirp "I love you" ... maybe you can teach yours & record that for when he is away on work! They are very quick learners <the birds I meant>.

That's so cute.
I've been trying to teach him to say his name for ages. No luck. He's learnt to mimic the call of a wild British bird (I forget which species. He hasn't done it for a while).
He's 5 in August so I don't know if he's getting a bit too old to learn.

Mine learned just after we first got him. When I would butter toast in the morning he'd make the sound of the knife on the crispy toast...that was kind of annoying at the time but endearing now that he is gone.

Aww that's so cute. What colour was he?
My late budgie, Luna, used to copy the sound of my PS3 turning on. The first time she did it I was so confused lol. I think she used to try and chirp "night". She would only make that noise when we turned the lights out.
