Nice, quite new...take care of it and it should last a long time...are you going to learn how to change the oil etc on it or just take it in when it needs a tune up? One suggestion: learn how to change a tire because I have been in the position of running over something and having a flat more then once. Those cans of instant inflate (I'll have to look up the name) helped me several times though because sometimes it is difficult to pull over to actually change the tire.

I was shown but I never actually done it. I know my oil changes are quite expensive, even just fixing it is expeensive since it is a volkswagen,

oh, never thought of the cost of the tune ups for the Jetta... can you take it to like a Jiffy Lube place or does it have to be the Volkswagon dealer's?

I have a little cheat sheet in my wallet for changing the tire...maybe I should put it with my jack...because the last time I got a flat I was trying to jack the car up with the jack wrongside down...

(but the best thing is to reduce your chance of drving over construction nails or debris on the road).

I don't think there is a dealership here in my city, I got mine at a Nissan dealership. The one closest is nearly 35-40 mins away. My oil changes can range up to $100 for the use of synthetic oil. I was recommended valvoline, which I been to once trying to figure out why my tire was staying flat (which had a nail). My friend plugged it for me, and did a pretty good job.

My insurance also went up like $500 so I'm working extra hard for that. I am required to have full overage, which is what brought it up.

Bassy, it's going to be tough for a bit while you establish credit and work to finance the everyday aspects of life but I commend you for perservering...salaries go up or better paying jobs come along eventually with experience...just keep trying to be frugal and watch your spending in the meantime...there are actually some low cost types of entertainment out there and sles can usually always be found on things you need/want. I am so happy to hear how responsible you are being!

My dad was kind enough to finance it for me. I am gonna do my best to pay him back for a lot of things he has done for me.

That's very nice of your Dad, he must trust you ... parents like to help out if they feel it isn't being wasted or abused...remember, they have to work for that money too and sacrifice in order to help their kids out.

An important life lesson...if you can learn to budget now then you will have an easier time at saving money to invest in your future for when you do need it.
