I wonder how he got them? Hope he is ok! How old is he?

It could have come from his bedding. It can become contaminated in warehouses if the packaging has a small whole in. He's had mite treatment and now he's angry at me. I'm not 100% sure because I got him from a rescue back in November. He's at least a year old.
