Ashton, see if one of your chibi friends needs the blue paper back ground, otherwise I am happy to try and negotiate a trade for a rare past item for it to put it in my win a back ground thread... or just hold onto it for negotiations with returning older members.

Windlyn also wouldn't load for me on Dec 30, before 11pm GMT+8. It started earlier, though that's the only time I have on record. I don't know when the problem was resolved.
Cilencio Cerbera also couldn't access the site at that same time IIRC

Thanks for the info!

Logs say we were up and running the all of the 30th. I see one database disconnect log entry at 7:44 WST (which lines up with your 11pm +8 GMT). There are a few info log entries about 3:30 WST, but no crashes. I've made a change to the database cache flushing to address those messages.

[+] SPOILER
Just FYI, the size of the pages here on WIndlyn have grown over the years (mostly due to graphics getting more complex/larger) and the original memory allocation per transaction were too small (what caused the errors we had several months back). So those were greatly enlarged to future-proff, but a side effect is the caching buffer space (which for efficiency was held before writing to disk to save wear and tear). Well many larger bits written to disk take longer so it times out before completing (the info messages). Decreasing the the buffer flush size before writing to disk will stop that. Yay!

tldr; Windlyn is growing and the original default server settings need to catch up.

Thanks!

I remember the biggest one was the one you had to pause while I was on another site trying to run damage control cuz someone brought the site up and poofed, so I had to control the influx on that side and tell them that yeah they got banned for multi-accounting on one email because it's against that site's rules, and yes it's being slow as fuck right now cuz they're running a major update
God that was stressful for me, I imagine having to pause and sort that out on your end was painful too
And in the end I don't think ANY of them stayed. Which considering how much of a cesspool that site is/was, is a good thing

Thankfully the person came back and apologized to me on the other site cuz they hadn't expected such a response

I imagine a lot of backend stuff is a lot less stressful when compared to that but goddamn
I can't imagine how much worse it would've been if I hadn't been on the other site running damage control. I don't want to imagine it either
