The clues are going through rainbow order. If it was only one rainbow = only 7ish wings essentially.
Double rainbow means repeating colours.

Silly superstition stuff. 4 sounds like the word death in Chinese. 8 is similar to the character for prosperity. 9 is similar to longevity. That's just about it. Even numbers are usually preferred over odd, too. 9 and 4 are exceptions. I don't know much about the other numbers though.

Yep! CNY is ridiculously busy for my fam.. on certain days we have to stay up till 3 just to pray, on certain days we have to visit the temple, on certain days we have to specifically cook a number of dishes @_@ Today was the last day, actually....
