Find somewhere with a sluice machine. You can find all sorts of pretty rocks and such in them. Some even have bitty fossils

I like fossils! My family have slate rocks in their yard that have mini fossils...its actually cool.

Speaking of hunting, have you guys heard of geocaching?

geocaching where you follow some directions to find hidden boxes that may have items enclosed where you can take put something in or take something out or and replace it with something else or ...?

I haven't done it but I know people who like doing it.

Yeah, that. It's super fun. Except when you get too eager and accidentally turn over a log covered with red ants that proceed to go all over your arms and bite you.

ok...that is not good! And I am so glad I haven't seen red ants near us! How come the winter cold doesn't kill them off where you are?
