I saw the movie, it's one of my favourites. From what I remember of the book it is pretty accurate. I think the differences were that the violence between the animals was more graphic in the book. In the book Pi meets another person while he's lost at sea.

I really like the movie too. What's odd for me as favorites go, although I really liked the movie, it's not one that I'd watch over and over like I do with my other favorites. While it was masterpiece level movie making, I think perhaps because I know the "punchline" I don't feel the need to watch it numerous times? No, perhaps not because there are other movies with known punchlines that I watch again and again. I'll have to think on why that is for me more. Image

I agree. It's one of my favourites but I rarely re-watch it. I think for me it's because it stays with me for such a long time.
