Came back from vacation just in time to see Hurricane Harvey terrorizing Texas and Louisiana, holy crap! No wonder why the turbulence was so terrible when I flew over New Mexico and Oklahoma (e n e)

Hope everyone that's been hit/is on the pathway of Hurricane Harvey is safe and sound and/or evacuated safely! What a way to end a cruise

School was cancelled today to give families time to prep just in case and most area schools have already called it for Monday too. It's so unpredictable. I'm just north of Houston, but still at risk for flooding, high winds, and tornadoes. I'm on higher land than my school though and I left my school laptop there because I thought we'd be in Friday. whoops. O_O

I've got plenty of water and non-perishable food. All vehicles are full of gas and we've all got bags packed just in case we have to leave in a hurry/evacuate.

Our main worry in my area is going without power for an extended period. Last time it hit here like this, they went 2 weeks without power.

OH and our bathtubs are full of water JUST in case. ofc it's not drinkable, but we'd use it to flush toilets manually and cook food and stuff. we've got charcoal and propane and a gas stove.
