i'm glad it was cancelled! It would be a media nightmare if it weren't!

The deaths are so sad. Especially since we were ordered NOT to evacuate. I hate seeing posts online about how we should have all left when we were told explicitly to shelter in place. I do believe the death toll would be higher if the city had tried to evacuate though.

to answer your question- starting in August is HOT.
I do like it though because we end at the end of May instead of June or July.

Start at the beginning of September, end at the end of June
Earlier in middle/high school cuz regents testing. Middle school doesn't have regents, but they're in the same building, which has to be under a form of lockdown cuz state tests, so middle school is done for the year
High school is mostly off, except for whichever tests they have to deal with, so...about a five hour ordeal. Two hours minimum at the test maximum of three. Gotta be there beforehand, and there's stuff that needs to be done after before we can leave the gym and go home
Tho the one day they did some rule breaking and after an hour and a half those of us done with the math regents (several of us had been done around the hour mark) and sent us to the gym so that we at least weren't bored mindless at the auditorium and potentially distracting classmates who were still working on it
The way my classes were, I had two all but my senior year, where I had none. Some people would have five or six, and have to stay the entire day cuz of how the tests fell on the schedule

everyone evacuating could have been a nightmare jam on the roads and cars could be washed away. I am glad you are ok though Mousy - do you still have that huge truck you used to drive in case you have to leave?

I think the clothing design ends today, 8/28, ( so many amazing entries!) but the guesses for the ransacked room I believe ends on 8/31 when the cruise ends

We had some server maintenance today, so we will extend the event another day! 8/29 will be the last day to submit entries for the outfit content, and 9/1 will be the last day to participate in this round of Mystery Detective!
