You can use the time in-between to get the items you like from the Lazarus, because they'll leave the shop when the event is over. c:

I'm not sure when the background is leaving, it has been around for some time now. But the other items will probably leave some time after New Years. There will be an announcement that will warn us of it beforehand though.
