[Novalia 2019] The Novalia Ballet

The world famous choreographer Herman Tänzer and his troupe of elite dancers are coming to Snowflake Village to be the special entertainment during the Novalian celebrations! They have been training all year to perform a festive ballet that’s classic, yet refreshingly whimsical and magical.

Because of an extremely generous holiday gift from Tänzer, admission the normally very exclusive ballet is free to all who arrive. Whether you are a ballet fanatic or barely dipping your toes in, the dancers are very excited to show you the product of their hard work and hope you’ll stop by at least once! Critics who have watched the rehearsals suggest visiting the ballet as frequently as you can this season. The dance is so beautiful and so detailed, you’re sure to notice something new and gain a fresh perspective with each viewing.

How to Play

Visit the Novalia Ballet once every day and you’ll get a stamp for attending and while watching you’ll build a nice memory to take back with you.

Collect enough stamps and you’ll get an extra special thank you gift from the theatre hosting the troupe!
Be sure to keep checking in! If you’re too busy to attend one day, there’s no way to get that stamp in your book! The theatre attendants won’t stamp it for you, not even if you try to bribe them with delicious, homemade gingerbread pengwing cookies. You’re welcome to stop by the ballet any time, any day, even if you’ve already watched it, if you want to make sure you got your stamp.

Y'know, dancers of any type deserve a ton of respect
Especially considering all the things they do in it
I've danced at a recital with my foot taped shut after opening a door on them walking in. Teacher didn't realize until mom told her
You can find clips of dancers on dancers and that's a lot of strength, flexibility, durability, etc on both sides
Not to mention I've seen talk of dancers being moved at the last second to a position they've never done and have to act like they knew that role very well. Injury? Deal with it later, smile now and dance. Sick? Hold it in. Tired? Nope, no time to rest, you don't have a backup. Then again, neither do 90% of the others

I agree, Kit...professional dancing is not for the light of heart...it takes endurance and self control and a huge commitment. Unfortunately dancers make a lot of physical sacrifices which come back to haunt them later.

but there is something so magical...so transforming... when you watch them on stage...and the costumes can be quite amazing.

When you see the Windlyn ballet shoe items with out the distraction of the background (look at Khadijacandy's avatar at the moment) they are quite elegant.

...every young ballerina to be aspires to earn those ribbon tied toe shoes.

Post your Novalia images on my fashion show threads!

I never got to pointe shoes. If I'd applied myself I could've
But naw
My sister did, and hilariously enough when the drama teacher found that out my sister had ~24 hours to learn a dance for the play they were doing that year in high school which gave mom about 12 hours to make the costume. Lots of velcro and cheating, but it made it significantly easier to dance in so it worked out
If they don't have someone who dances pointe they just skip the dance

I did ballet, tap, and jazz for ten years. A few years of cheer dance, and a couple of acrobatics. The second of acro, being the tallest student and taller than the teacher, she sometimes had me help out. Stuff like handstands where an arm would be out to know you're far enough, she did with the older kids and teens, she had me do with the younger kids (generally about 4-10)
For some reason I was also the only classmate in both years who could forward and backward roll without twisting to the sides. And have my arms out to the side. And still be super fast
Still can't do a cartwheel loooooool

I still like to dance around the house...somehow the ballet drills never leave you and I catch myself going through them...good for leg toning!

Merry Christmas day to those on the other side of the world!
